The WCLL introduces the Player of the Week award. The WCLL will feature the Player, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week as a weekly feature.

Player of the Week
Derrick Mills - Chapman University. Sophomore.
"Mills" was the anchor to Chapman's victory in Saturday's win over Division foe UC Santa Barbara. Derrick was a huge factor on the offensive end, contributing four goals and two assists in his season's breakout game. In addition to his offensive production, he tallied five ground balls while dominated the transition game between the lines. With the win over UCSB, Chapman finishes the year with a 5-0 record in the LA Division.
Goalie of the Week
Ian Parker - University of Arizona. Freshman.
In the highly anticipated "Duel in the Desert", Ian led the #12 Laxcats past their upstate rival, the #4 Arizona State Sun Devils by the score of 17 - 10. Ian recorded a career best 18 saves in the game, helping his defense slow down the Devil's strong offensive attack. Finishing his first collegiate regular season, Ian tallied 132 saves and an impressive 7.13 goals against average.
Rookie of the Week
Mark Swoboda - Santa Clara University. Mid/Att.
Mark, a transfer student from Cal Poly, scored 4 goals and 2 assists in Santa Clara's finale over St. Mary's College. Mark, one of Santa Clara's main ingredients for their turnaround success this season, also won 9 of 16 face offs and scooped up 13 groundballs in the game.

Player of the Week
Anders Moberg - University of Nevada - Reno. Junior.
In a clash between the two rivals in the state of Nevada, Anders scored team high 7 goals and added 2 assists leading University of Nevada over the Runnin Rebels of UNLV. Two days later, Anders added 4 more goals and 2 assists, in Nevada's convincing win over UC Santa Cruz. Anders Moberg is Nevada-Reno's second leading scorer in points this season with 22 goals and 7 assists.
Goalie of the Week
Phil Donnici - Santa Clara. Sophomore.
In a low scoring, defensive battle against conference foe UC Davis, Phil Donnici had one of his best performances of the season. In Santa Clara's 6 - 3 win, Phil recorded 11 saves and 4 groundballs. Phil's goaltending has been one the Bronco's bright spots this season, recording 147 saves on the year. Santa Clara will be looking to improve their overall record to 7-7 when they travel to St. Mary's College on Saturday.
Rookie of the Week
Eric Nelson - Arizona State. Attack.
Eric had an outstanding performance against the University of San Diego this week helping to vault Arizona State into the WCLL playoffs for the first time in ten years. He paced the Sun Devils in their victory recording a season high 9 points on 7 goals and 2 assists. Eric is currently # 6 in scoring in the WCLL with 19 goals, 27 assists for a total of 46 points.

Player of the Week
Chris Burns - Saint Marys College. Junior
Chris Burns had 7 goals and 6 assists scoring from both the attack and midfield positions while picking up in excess of 10 ground balls to help St. Mary's pick up its first win of the season vs. Idaho (17 -7). The following day, in a loss to Gonzaga he contributed 2 goals and 4 assists. Despite St. Mary's record this season, Chris ranks 3rd in the WCLL in scoring with 23 goals and 13 assists.
Goalie of the Week
Clay Touralt - Arizona State. Freshman
Clay Tourault played in the second half of three games during the week that was, helping to wrap up three wins for the Sun Devils. In wins against Cal Berkeley and Eastern Michigan Clay stopped 13 while allowing a total of five goals in the second half of each game. Clay was instrumental in ASU's second win over a #1 ranked team in as many tries, contributing 11 saves while allowing 6 goals against Michigan. His fourth quarter heroics, stopping several quality shots held off a late Wolverine rally.
Rookie of the Week
Corey Smith - University of Arizona
Corey Smith tallied 3 goals and 1 assist as Arizona rolled past Cal Berkeley 19 - 4. Finishing up his weekends work, Smith's 5 goals contributed to the Laxcats 18-9 win over LMU Lions. Corey, from Upper Dublin HS in Dresher, PA ranks 2nd in scoring for the Laxcats with 26 goals & 7 assists.

Player of the Week
Tyler Westfall - Arizona State. Sophomore.
Attackman Tyler Westfall once again contributed significantly to ASU's split this week against two top MCLA's teams. Tyler, the older of the two Westfall Brothers, tallied one goal and 4 assists in a 10-9 loss to (at the time) the #7 Colorado Buffalo's. As if that was not enough he followed up that performance with a stellar game versus the # 1 team in the nation, the University of Oregon. During the biggest win in the recent history of the Arizona State program, Tyler scored 8 goals and added 2 assists in the Sun Devil's 18-17 win over the Ducks. He currently leads the WCLL in scoring with 5.88 points per game average
Goalie of the Week
Chris Zahner - UC Davis. Senior
Chris Zahner helped the Aggies go 3-0 on their Spring Break trip to Utah, with wins over Utah St., Oregon St. and Westminster College. Chris tallied 14 saves in the 3 victories while scoring his first collegiate goal in the Westminster game. His 4.92 GAA and .659 save percentage rank amongst the leaders in the Conference.
Rookie of the Week
Sean Marshall - Chapman University
Sean Marshall played his much anticipated breakout game of the season, helping Chapman to an 11 - 6 win over division foe, LMU. He tallied three key goals in an effort to move the team to 4-0 in the LA Division of the WCLL.

Player of the Week
Ryan Westfall - Arizona State. Freshman
Ryan tallied 3 goals and 2 assists to lead the team in points against a tough OOC team, Texas A&M. He started the Devil's engine going in the third quarter. His 2 goals and an assist in a three minute span sparked ASU's 6 goal run and helped to put the game out of reach. The final was a 17 - 11 Sun Devil victory. Ryan is now third on his team in points, averaging just under 3.5 per game. Ryan is the younger Brother of 2 time Player of the Week, Tyler Westfall.
Goalie of the Week
Matt Schneider - University of Cal Berkeley. Junior
Junior Matt Schneider, recorded 16 saves while allowing 7 goals in the Bears thrilling triple overtime win against #12 ranked Cal Poly (SLO). Matt provided the defense with a spectacular performance. There were no less then four instances in the game when Cal Poly attacked with one on one opportunities and he came up big stopping 3 out of the four on the doorstep. Two of the three came against Cal Poly's leading scoring attackmen, Seth Kweller.
Rookie of the Week
Luke Langon - University of Cal Berkeley
Freshman Luke Langon (Danville, CA, Monte Vista HS) led the Bear attack in scoring in that same spectacular triple overtime win against Division rival and #12 ranked Cal Poly (SLO). Luke would lead Cal with 2 goals in regulation and then completed his hat trick inside of two minutes in the third overtime. Luke has worked his way to Berkeley's starting attack this week. During the fourth quarter and ensuing overtimes he recorded 6 GB's while taking two shots before he put in the game winner.

Player of the Week
Harrison Crawford - Universtiy of Arizona. Senior
The University of Arizona's Captain and returning All America, had outstanding performances on the road in San Diego. His play helped the Laxcats win 2 of 3 games. In the first game of the weekend Harrison had 3 goals and 1 assist, leading Arizona to avenge it's 2006 loss with a 15 - 6 win over Division foe UCSD. Only 15 hours later Harrison got his team started again with another hat trick against SDSU. Harrison added 2 goals in the Laxcats loss to Northeastern, giving Crawford 8 goals and 1 assist over the weekend. Harrison is leading the 7 - 2 Laxcats in scoring this season, with 20 goals and 6 assist.
Goalie of the Week
Joe Williams - University of San Diego. Sophomore
In one of the most exciting games over the past week, if not the past year; Joe Williams helped USD to an 11 - 10 victory over the University of Texas. Joe tallied 22 saves in the game including an outlet pass that led to the game tying goal in the 4th Quarter.
Rookie of the Week
Sam Harper - Chico State
Sam is a very solid, very physical freshman defensemen, and Sunday was his best game as a college player against a strong Santa Clara attack. Sam played great position defense, picked up a number of key ground balls, steals, cleared the ball effectively, and when ignored on the fast break scored his first collegiate goal.

Player of the Week
Tyler Westfall - Arizona State. Sophomore.
Tyler helped ASU to two League wins this weekend putting them in the drivers seat for their first playoff appearance in many years. Tyler's 4 goal, 4 assist performance matches his highest point total of the season, and helped lead his team to a 12-7 victory over UCSD. He either assisted or scored 4 of ASU's 6 goals leading to a early 6-1 lead that proved to be the difference in that game. In their second game, Tyler fought through several shutoffs, while again leading the Sun Devils in scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists. His offense led to the Devils 18-3 win over SDSU. This is Tyler's second time being named player of the week.
Goalie of the Week
Ian Parker - University of Arizona. Freshmen.
With only a few collegiate games under his belt, Ian helped the #6 Laxcats to a 3 game sweep on the road in Chicago. Ian accumulated 15 saves and allowed only 5 goals in his 2 games over #24 Illinois and #14 Lindenwood University. The games were played in less then good conditions at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL.
Co-Rookies of the Week
Josh Rottman/Jules Houts - UC Davis.
Josh, an attackman, had 4 goals and 3 assists, and Jules a midfielder had 7 goals and 1 assist; leading UC Davis to dominating wins against UCSC (21-1) and UNR (17-2). Both players were huge sparks in UC Davis' resurging offense.

Player of the Week
Brian Minkler - Loyola-Marymount. Attack. Junior.
Brian has been the catalyst for the much improved Loyola-Marymount offense. This past weekend he tallied 9 goals and 7 assists against Santa Clara and San Diego State University. Brian has led LMU to the best record in the WCLL, with 6 wins and 0 losses. He also leads the WCLL in scoring with 20 goals and 12 assists.
Goalie of the Week
Dash Pomerantz - UC San Diego. Senior.
With 2 starting defensemen out due to injury, senior captian, Dash Pomerantz needed to have a big game for the visiting Tritons against the UCLA Bruins… and he did. On 40 UCLA shots, Dash had 23 saves only allowing 5 goals while, leading UCSD to their first win of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Chris Valenzuela - Chico State, Attack.
In only his second game of his collegiate career, Chris led Chico State to a commanding win over St. Mary's College. Not only did Chris help control the ball on Chico's offensive end but he also managed to tally an impressive 2 goals and 2 assists in the game.

Co - Players of the Week
Tyler Westfall - Arizona State. Attack. Sophomore.
Tyler played a major role in Arizona State's wins last weekend against two higher ranked teams. With one of the highest single game point totals of the year, (4 goals, 4 assist) Tyler helped the Sun Devils to their first win of the year, beating the Utes of Utah 14 - 10. Two days later he showed off his offensive skills again by racking up 4 goals in a second huge win for ASU, defeating Chapman 11 - 10.
Ryan Brent - UC Santa Barbara. Attack. Sophomore.
Ryan tallied 6 goals and 4 assist over the weekend, including 4 goals and 4 assists against a strong WCLL Central team, Cal Poly. Two days later Ryan scored two more goals against #18 ranked UCSD.
Goalie of the Week
Michael Ford - Santa Clara. Sophomore.
Michael stopped 4 of 5 shots on goal in their win on Sunday and followed that up with stopping 8 of the 9 shots the next day. Santa Clara beat Nevada-Reno and Dominican, 16-7 and 13-1, respectively.
Rookie of the Week
Eric Nelson - Arizona State. Attack. Freshman.
Eric also added to Arizona State's great play, by tallying 2 goals and 6 assists over the weekend. Eric, in only his 3rd collegiate game managed to collect 5 points for the game, with 1 goal and 4 assists against a strong Chapman team.

Player of the Week
Matt Anderson - Cal Poly SLO. Midfield. Junior.
Matt tallied one goal and 3 assists in route to a 9-6 decision over long time rival Chico State. Matt tallied three of his four points in the second quarter giving the Mustangs a 6-3 advantage at half. Besides his excellent offensive day, equally impressive was Matt's defensive play. He recorded 6 groundballs and laid numerous hard hits on the competition.
Goalie of the Week
Danny Kirkpatrick - Chapman University. Sophomore.
Danny registered 12 saves on 17 shots, and proved to be the difference maker on defense with a .706 save percentage. This season, Danny has held opponents to a 3.5 goals a game average.
Rookie of the Week
Austin Raab - Chico State. Goalie. Freshmen.
Austin was named Wildcat starter only two days before the game. He came out and shined in his first ever collegiate game against rival Cal Poly. Austin racked up 15 saves on 24 shots, including four point blank saves.

Scott Trimble - Claremont University Attack. Sophomore.
Scott led Claremont to a 2-0 start in 2007 with wins over past rivals Occidental College and Biola University. Scott tallied 12 goals and 2 assists in the 2 games.
Brendan Sindell - UC Santa Barbara Attack. Sophomore.
Brendan help UCSB get past a strong Cal team by scoring 4 of the teams 6 goals, including the game winner. Brendan also had an assist in the game, Helping UCSB to a 6-5 win. Two days later, Brendan had 1 goal and 3 assist to help UCSB win on the road against Stanford.
Goalie of the Week
Mathew Scheider - Cal Berkeley. Junior.
Even thought the UC Berkeley lost both its opening weekend games, Junior Mathew Scheider kept the Bears in the games with amazing saves. Logging 25 saves and 6 goals allowed against #6 ranked UCSB, and 15 saves and 6 goals allowed against UCLA.
Rookie of the Week
Conner Martin - Chapman University. Attack. Freshmen.
Conner tallied five goals and two assist in his first collegiate game. He led his team in scoring and provided a huge spark in Chapman's 13 - 2 victory over USC.
